Sanfratello’s Pizzeria was born in 1969 when Joseph Sanfratello Sr. opened the original store on Main Street in Glenwood. The location transformed a single-family home into a warm and welcoming pizzeria offering exceptional food on Chicago’s south side. The key to Sanfratello’s success was his dedication to creating the highest quality food and serving the local community with pride. Everyone who walked through the door was greeted like family and served only the best. This is the founding principle behind Sanfratello’s Pizzeria.

 

This has not changed in over four decades as the Sanfratello family has continued their father’s founding values with locations across the Midwest and beyond. Sanfratello’s embodies the spirit of classic Sicilian cooking using only the best ingredients. Signature pizzas are crafted with artisanal cheeses, carefully selected toppings including Chicago meats, and made from scratch crust baked to crispy yet chewy perfection.

 

From thin and crispy pizza to classic Chicago deep dish, Sanfratello’s Pizzeria continues to offer quality in every bite. Much has changed over the last decades, but Sanfratello’s remains committed to carrying on the family legacy that has stood since the "Glenwood" days back in ‘69. Current owners Keith and Jennifer Stiglitz met while working at the restaurant, and as husband and wife, purchased the location in 2008. As a staple in the community, this beloved pizzeria remains a family business offering authentic food and a welcoming atmosphere.

 

Jennifer and Keith pride themselves on delivering the exact same recipe that their loyal customers have loved for 40+ years. Ultimately, Sanfratello’s Pizzeria is family-owned and operated but treats its customers like family too.
